Baren our local representative conducts the distribution ceremony at our Tangra centre.

In February we held ceremonies in Tangra, Topsia and Khidderpore centres where we distributed admission and book costs to all of the older students in the three centres. This year it gives us great pride to be able to assist 45 students in our centres from class 8-12. It is great for us to be able to help these students and help them in the final year’s of their education in this way. In India once a student reaches class 9 the cost of their education increases greatly as it is no longer provided for free by the government, in poorer communities families are often unable to meet these costs and causes young people to drop out of school. For this reason providing this assistance is essential in allowing young people to complete their education and make brighter futures for themselves.
