With the success of our student support programme in recent years, it has been great for us to see a number of the students we sponsor complete their secondary education and progress on to further studies in third level education. The desire by so many of the students to progress to college to further their future career prospects has become much greater in recent years and with many of the students we sponsor at second level wishing to attend college we decided to continue our support of these students to help them complete their studies. This year we are proud to be able to sponsor eighteen students in their college education and we work closely with them all throughout the year and monitor their progress.
Meet Our College Students
First Year Students
Motiur is studying Political Science at Bangabasi College. He completed his higher secondary in Arts Stream and is now pursuing his BA in Political Science
Piu is studying an Arts degree having completed her higher secondary this year. She will be completing her BA over the coming three years
Biswanath is studying an Arts degree having completed his higher secondary this year. He will be completing her BA over the coming three years
Nasir is studying Political Science at Bangabasi College. He completed his higher secondary in Arts Stream and is now pursuing his BA in Political Science
Sufia is studying an Arts degree having completed her higher secondary this year. She will be completing her BA over the coming three years
Anwar has gained admission to study a BCom with Accounts in Heramba Chandra College having scored an excellent 84% in his higher secondary exams
Manju is studying an Arts degree having completed her higher secondary this year. She will be completing her BA over the coming three years
Mahtab has gained admission to study a BCom with Accounts in Heramba Chandra College having scored an excellent 91% in his higher secondary exams
Samim is studying for his BCom having completed his higher secondary this year. He will be completing his BCom over the coming three years
Second Year Students
Paltu is studying a Bachelor of Commerce Degree with an emphasis on Accounts having received first class marks in his higher secondary exam in commerce stream.
Priya is studying for a law degree having successfully gained admission to college after passing the entrance examination. She will be completing her LLB in LJD Law College.
Samser is taking a Bachelor of Science degree in Bango Basi College in the city. He completed his higher secondary in science stream and is now pursuing his BSc in college.
Shehjadi is studying an Arts degree having completed her higher secondary this year. She will be completing her BA over the coming three years.
Third Year Students
Sushanta Mondal comes from the Sundarbans and is studying a BSc in Chemistry Honours in Fakir Chand College in Diamond Harbour.
Imran has recently begun the third year of his BSc in Media Science in The Future Institute of Engineering and Management in Sonarpur just outside of Kolkata
Akbar has begun his third year of a BHM in Hospital Management at the Future Institute of Engineering and Management having completed a five-week training placement during July.
Salim from Khidderpore is now finishing his second-year exams and will shortly be beginning his second year of his Bachelor of Commerce Degree in New Alipore College in Kolkata
Rupmini is now beginning her third year of a Journalism Degree in Derozio Memorial College in the New Town area of Kolkata
