Calcutta Connect

India Immersion Project 2016

The end of February saw the arrival of this years Coláiste Éanna India Immersion Project to Calcutta. The group spent ten days in the city and as always we were delighted to welcome them to the centres we support, meet with staff and students and spend time interacting with everyone in the centres. It was a great ten days and this year saw twelve pupils from Coláiste Éanna accompanied by four teachers visit the city. The group visited each of the centres and enjoyed thoroughly enjoyed visiting and getting to know more about the work we do in the projects we support and getting to know the students in each centre. It is a great honour for us to have such a great connection with Coláiste Éanna and the India Immersion Project given this is where the roots of Calcutta Connect lie and being able to be such a big part of the groups time in the city is a great privilege for us.

Some of the group around our Tangra centre where they spent the morning with our students on a festival of Saraswati Puja, the Hindu God of education and learning.
